Charities we have donated to include

Yorkshire Air Ambulance

This was the first charity we chose to support. Following the admirable tradition of the motorcycling fraternity we chose this as a charity because of their none discriminative assistance of bikers. We have raise money in various ways.

Make a Wish Foundation

We decided to do a fundraiser for this because one of our members has an ill child. He and his family were treated to a once in a lifetime trip to Florida by the Foundation. As a thank you he wanted to do something back. We as a club knew our fundraising potential and organized a bowling match. The Bowlplex at the Xscape, Glasshoughton, Castleford offered us 4 lanes for free. We made a charge and invited everyone for a bowling tournament.

Tsunami

Touched by the TV pictures and the fact that a club friend was in Thailand, when the Tsunami hit, we felt compelled to do something. This time we displayed our bikes in Pontefract town centre in order to attract public donation. Our friend returned safe after days of anguish.

Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract

The Prince of Wales Hospice provides care for the terminally ill. It is hugely supported by the people of Pontefract and we being a Pontefract based club wanted to do something local for the town. We have raised money at our birthday bash and various raffles in the Robin Hood, Pontefract. The Robin Hood also supports the Hospice.

Leeds Liver Unit Trust

The Liver unit is a specialist unit which receives no government funding and relies solely on donations to continue its life saving treatment.

One of our members requires the services of these wonderful people, so we decided to make a small donation in our way of saying thanks.

‘BAG IT UP’ bra campaign

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charities latest campaign is to collect unwanted bras in order to raise funds for its invaluable life saving operations. Recycled bras can be packed for resale to customers in the UK and overseas, particularly in West Africa. The service is hoping to collect 200,000 unwanted bras and over 4,000 have been donated so far.
